Rehabilitation Centre at Kinta Valley, Ipoh

  1. Provides basic training for those visual impaired who have never undergo such regiments and also the adult blinds.
  2. Training includes mobility skills, daily living skills (e.g. washing, ironing & cooking), Braille literacy and computer literacy.
  3. Upon completion of the 6-months training, trainees have the option to take up a course of study at Gurney Training Centre (GTC) in MAB Kuala Lumpur.

In the same year of 2012, the Kinta Valley Training Centre in Ipoh, Perak was reopened (after being closed in 1978). The Rehabilitation Training Programme of the GTC and Taman Harapan was transferred to the Kinta Valley Training Centre, thereby allowing the GTC to focus on Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVT) while Taman Harapan concerntrate on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Handicrafts and Carpentry.
